Habitual Guy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

Habitual Guy is operated by Varun Chatlani, an individual trading as Prodigi AI (Maker Tower A, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai – 400005, Maharashtra, India) ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal data we handle and your rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025.

What we collect

  • Your email address and display name (from sign-up or Google sign-in).
  • Tasks, task steps, calendar entries, repeating tasks and day templates.
  • Habits and the progress you log for them.
  • Focus and break sessions from the focus timer.
  • Your settings, such as theme, day hours and reminder choices.
  • A record of when you agreed to this policy, including your browser's user-agent string.

Why we use it

Only to provide the service to you: storing, showing and syncing your planner and habits across your devices.

Where it is stored

Your data is stored with our cloud database hosting provider. It may be stored or processed on servers outside India.

What stays on your device

So the installed app can open without internet, a small amount of non-sensitive data (settings, life areas, tasks and habits) is kept in your browser's storage. All of it is cleared when you sign out or delete your account.

AI assistants you connect

If you choose to connect an AI assistant (such as ChatGPT or Claude) through "Connect an assistant" and approve access, that assistant can read and update your tasks and habits, acting as you. What the assistant does with that data is governed by its provider's own privacy policy. You can stop by revoking access in the assistant.

What we don't do

  • No advertising.
  • No sale or sharing of your data for others' marketing.
  • No tracking or analytics profiles.

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account. Deleting your account removes your data straight away; copies in routine backups are removed as those backups age out.

Your rights

  • Access and export: Settings → Your Data → Export all my data.
  • Correction: edit anything in the app, or contact us.
  • Erasure: Settings → Your Data → Delete my account.
  • Withdraw consent: the service cannot work without processing your data, so withdrawing consent means deleting your account.
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become unable to: contact us.
  • Complain: to our Grievance Officer first (see below). If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
